SURE CAVITY™ RAIN SCREEN 10mm

"Ideal for Man-Made Stone and Thin Veneer Masonry"

Sure Cavity™ Rain Screen 10mm was designed by a mason specifically for man-made stone and thin-veneer masonry applications. The product also makes a nice rain screen for stucco, and has been used behind most sidings as well.

Sure Cavity™ is made from a high-density polystyrene for the ultimate compression resistance which makes applying mortar a breeze. The product comes with an adhered polypropylene fabric attached which blocks mortar or stucco from filling the cavity and acts as a bugscreen at the ends of each roll where there is a 4 inch horizontal overlap of fabric. Diamond lathe or equivalent must be used in man-made and thin-veneer masonry applications while 10mm stucco wire (TTA "RS" Stucco Wire) must be used in stucco applications to ensure adequate furring of the stucco wire from the product.

WHY CHOOSE SURE CAVITY™ AS YOUR RAIN SCREEN SYSTEM?

UNPARALLELED DRAINAGE AND COMPARTMENTALIZATION CHARACTERISTICS WITH EXCELLENT VAPOUR PERMEANCE

  • Double-sided, open vertical channels allow for ultimate drainage of moisture — extremely important for mortar and stone which is very porous!
  • Unlike some dimpled products, Sure Cavity™'s perforations allow for cross-ventilation and vapour permeance for better drying
  • Each "flute" promotes compartmentalization for pressure equalization resulting in less migration of moisture across wall-cavity

SUPERIOR APPEARANCE OF STONE/STUCCO VS. FURRING STRIP METHOD DUE TO LESS RIDGING, CRACKING, AND WAVINESS

  • Less wavy man-made stone, masonry, and stucco due to consistent rigid product along entire depth of wall (not strips of wood or plastic every 8 inches with a questionable backerboard between each strip)
  • Stone and stucco less susceptible to "ridging" and "cracking" (due to consistent, compression resistant product) which is often associated with the furring strip/backerboard combination — straighter, more reliable walls!

"For the best moisture protection,
specify Typar® Housewrap™ as part of your rain screen system!"

SAVE YOUR CLIENT TIME AND MONEY ON THE PROJECT

  • Less than half the installed cost of using furring strips and backerboard for a stucco or stone application — approx. half the installation time!
  • Easy to work with — masons like the workability and rigidness of the product
  • Bends nicely around corners for even faster installation!

PEACE OF MIND THAT THE PRODUCT WILL LAST THE LIFE OF THE BUILDING

  • Product will not retain moisture vs. wood furring strips which can soak up water
  • Product does not degrade fasteners vs. chemical treatments in wood strips which can eat away at nails and other fasteners
  • Product made from a high-density polystyrene for durability, rigidity, and longevity

SAY GOODBYE TO STRAPPING WITH BACKERBOARD

  • No reason to use furring strips and backerboard for stucco/stone projects — just apply Sure Cavity™!
  • Saves installation time, labour, and money
  • Makes finished product less susceptible to ridging and cracking
Say goodbye to thisNo more strapping with
backerboard product (as shown here)
